March Favorites and Un-favorites!

Wow, March is over.  It has been a good month personally and a sad month for the local community.  My heart still breaks for the devastation in Oso.  My husband and I had many talks about our little family and nothing is more important than our love for them. You always re-evaluate your life when tragedies strike so close.

So lets just jump into my favorites.  I also switched things up a bit and threw in one un-favorite!
1.) Boon's Grass Drying Rack  I actually purchased this as a baby shower present for a friend.  I wish I had picked one of these up when my littles were still using bottles.  It is super cute for the counter, BPA free, Phthalate free, PVC free, and very functional!  I hope she loves it.
2.) Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream  I am always drawn to B.B. products because they are a very natural based brand.  I've been using this cleanser all month long and it makes my skin feel cool, clean, and refreshed.  Make sure to use as directed and avoid your eyeballs.

3.) Sally Hansen Insta-Dry polish in In Prompt Blue  I received this a gift from Britt in the Beauty Bag Swap.  I am so in love with this bright Summery blue shade.  I always get compliments when I wear it.  I can say after a fresh 2 coats and top coat is stays puts for a few days.  I am very hard on my nails so I expect chips in the first day!
4.)  Bath and Body Works Soap in the scent Black Cherry Merlot  There isn't anything I don't love about this soap.  To the soft and silky way it leaves my hands, to its delicate pink color.  It smells divine, I couldn't leave my fav candle and soap shop out!
5.) Costco  After renewing our membership a few months ago I now have a new found love for the place.  They have a great organic section that I find to beat the prices of most local grocery markets.  They've got super cute jammies and clothes for the girls.  I found their Easter dresses there and Amira wanted practically every one!  They also have nice stuff for the home/outdoor areas. The best place to buy garbage bags!
6.) My Little Gems Favorite, Springtime for Max & Ruby DVD  As I do try my best to limit my girls tv intake.  I still let them enjoy fun movies like this.  They love this one and there is just something about Max & Ruby that is heartwarming.  I'm not sure if its their house, clothes, or music but I love watching this one with them!  Plus is all about Spring and Easter :)

So this is the new part, my March Un-favorite.  Sorry to be such a negative Nancy.  I was so happy when I found this ELF Lip Exfoliator.  I've been searching my local drugstores for one, for months and their always sold out.  When I was able to get my hands on this I rushed home to try it.  At first I used it with wet lips and nothing happened, just a light chapstick feel.  So then the next day I applied on dry lips, and put it on like the dickens. Still the sugars weren't coming out. I had tried so hard the tube actually broke off inside the container, lol!  I was about to give up when on the fourth or fifth application or so the top layers came off and the sugars started working.  OMG it was tearing my lip skin off!  It actually scabbed up my lips in two areas!  Maybe I just bought an old bunk one and everyone else who has been raving about this thing is right.  While I still love my usual ELF products, I am not using this lip exfoliator thing again.
Thank you so much for reading!  If you have any suggestions for me I'd love to hear them!

  2. I was just talking to my husband the other day about getting membership at Costco. You're always finding great things there. I've been curious about Burt's Bee's brand but never tried it out. I may give it shot.

  3. Love it. Does the instadry nail polish actually dry fast? If so, I need it. I used to paint my nails all the time but now it's so annoying because every time I paint my nails, the girls need me lol. Nails don't last very long ;) and I totally agree about the lip exfoliator! Got rave reviews but it did not work for me! It hurts my lips, hahah.

  5. I love that little drying rack I bought it when Elliot was born and it's great for keeping bottles clean and away from the regular dishes. I love that nail color too! I'm sorry about your lips! haha that's kind of scary though!

  6. SO glad you posted that unfavorite!! I've seen it a few times at Target and have been wanting to try it. Usually Elf products are good, this doesn't sound like one I'll be trying!

  7. I loooove our Boons drying rack! I love the way everything is suspended from actually having to touch anything. I'm sure your friend will love it, too. (PS I nominated you for the Liebster Award here: http://rhapsodyandchaos.com/liebster-award/)
